I would expect a gun brought in by Colt as representative example of their work would have been gone over by them with by a fine-tooth comb before it was displayed. I was just looking at an Enhanced Internal Diagram of the new Cobra. The relatively generous length of the ejector rod helps facilitate the ejection of spent cartridge cases. This is Colts first time wading into DA/SA revolver market in over a decade. You just described, minus the .32 calibers, an original 1950s-1960s era Colt Cobra / Detective Special. The .357 Magnum cartridge in a compact, lightweight package can be punishing. You could get the Cobra in .38 Special, .32 Colt New Police, .22 LR, and a few were produced in .38 S&W. That changed this year when Colt reintroduced a newly redesigned Cobra. Ive carried a Taurus 605 as my everyday carry gun for several years and have never had a problem with it. No need to change the grips, but you could if you wanted and the same can be said of the front sight. Aside from that, very satisfied with the weight balance, look, feel, functionality and fit. Muzzle jump and flip, commonly associated with small revolvers, is nonexistent on the Cobra. I heard an interview by one of their guys. They laughed it off and got the defective gun out of sight as quick as possible but not before a bunch of us realize what was going on and reported it to our friends and I believe the truth about guns had something about it too maybe in this article previously. Rather than a smoothly swept oval, the trigger guard has a noticeable stutter, appearing right below the tip of the trigger. You do realize that 38 Special can be fired in 357 Magnum chambered guns..right? Youd have to go back to the pre-Depression double guns of Parker, Fox, et al, and some custom-orders from Winchesters custom shop prior to WWII. I have only one Comment.
