It was really cool unboxing it, It had some weird oil on it, but awesome overall. BUT then again this was to be a replica, not a DIY sword. The blade is hefty and packs a punch and is somewhat sharp, easily sharpened however. I am confused looking at it now maybe buy one for my son as a gift, mine had the option then to get a heavy leather sheath with it but now i do not see that option. Feels great in the hand and could obviously do some serious damage. It is overall a very nice sword, but I do have some complaints. Then I drilled holes and milled out the spaces in between so that I had cut out a space in each guard for the tang to fit through. Considering purchasing another awesome, cut down a 6-8" oak to test it and blade held up perfect.handle was plastic and came apart so I replaced it with friction tape from electrical supply. I used a 4 in whetstone t get that nick out,BEAT THAT! My complaint is why did they have to make it so ugly. Out of the box the tip was chipped off and it looks like some one slipped with the grinder and buffed off some of the "finish" a few inches from the end. And just for you history buffs out there, this sword is not an Exact replica. Even came with a fairly sharp edge which needs only some basic finishing to clean up the edge. For $30 there is no better deal.

I had been on the fence on purchasing this sword for my collection but after seeing the video on the vblog I ordered it.Well worth the money!!!! Firstly the paint job, atleast on mine isn't the same as the one shown, but not an huge deal really. this was my second buy and its a wonderfull sword without any defects, love how it handles. It came sharp out of the box and is outstandingly thick, not to mention pretty heavy. It seems to be a bit loose but none the less adequate. This sword was awesome while I had it! The sword is HUGE. Each piece of the guard is made of two pieces of metal that snap together. The detail of the paint is also not as good as in the pictures, especially at the cutting edge, where the shiny metal is exposed. The look on his face was more than I expected, he loves it. There ain't NOTHING wrong with this sword period. Anyone who wants a spartan sword need look no further. All in all I would never recommend anyone to buy this unless to use it as a wall hanger or a movie prop because the blade is made of a cheap metal and the handle is basically leather and glue. Be warned, it is larger, though not by a massive amount, then the ones in the movie, but because it is a display, i think it was a great idea to up the size a little. I figured it would fall apart, but not as fast as it did. It's like I said before. My heaviest sword didn't even weigh as much, and it was twice the size! It is a 1 handed sword so unless you are really strong or get a lot of practice do NOT swing this sword near anything that you want to keep, and be carefull where your legs are when you swing down. It is thick and somewhat heavy, but you can still swing it, and the grip is large enough you can fit two hands on it.
